What to Expect in a Biomagnetism Treatment Session
Prior to the Therapy
You will be asked to arrive with form fitting* closed-toed shoes like sneakers, running shoes, etc. No sandals, flip flops, crocs, or heels please. Part of this treatment requires checking for a leg length discrepancy (a shortening of one leg compared to the other). The best way for the therapist to check for this is to lift up both legs while the patient is lying down and thus the discrepancy will be visible, especially with the correct shoes. ​

See below for examples of appropriate shoes:
*Try to avoid shoes like Uggs since they are not form-fitting and may be loose around the heel/ankle, thus not allowing the therapist to get a good grip on the shoe.
DURING THERAPY
You will be asked to lie down on a massage table. If this is a home visit, there may be the option of lying down on a bed instead. A foam roller or a pillow may be placed underneath the patient's knees to help the therapist.

Treatment begins with the therapist scanning the patient by placing magnets, negative (black) side down, on the body. If there is an invasive microorganism or trauma located in that area of the body, the body will react with a slight shortening of the leg, otherwise known as a leg length discrepancy (click here to learn more).
To check for this, the therapist will simply lift your legs to check for the leg length discrepancy and then place them gently back down on the massage table.
To correct the point, a magnet of the opposite polarity must be placed on a corresponding point. The therapist will then check the legs again to see if the leg has been corrected. If so, both magnets will remain on the body for about 10 minutes. If not, the therapist will adjust the placement of the magnet and check again.

For a new patient, the treatment session may last about an hour long. For a patient that is often treated by biomagnetism, the session may last as little as 15-20 minutes.
IS IT IMPORTANT TO TREAT ALL FAMILY MEMBERS?
In some cases, it may be recommended to have your partner and family members living in the home also be treated since there are several points in Biomagnetism that are easily transferred from person to person.
